I had water damage in my very small kitchen and dining area. Approximately 207 square feet. This remodel took 6 months and 8 days with so many issues. Dealing with both of the owners was frustrating and I found it strange because they have such wonderful reviews. Turns out they took over this company not long ago and so a lot of those reviews are not for them and I found out the hard way. Anytime I would ask when the project would get started or any part of the project would get started or completed. It was always met with " I can't tell you any of that. It's day by day. This is just how it goes" A different company tore out the kitchen in June and NorCal did not start the rebuild for a very long time but told me it would be completed October 3rd. Since the start of NorCal working on my kitchen there were 11 no-show days where they said they would be there, a mismeasurement of my cabinets in which they had to move my door to my garage, I was told they planned to make the door 2 inches smaller but I did some research in California Code says that is a violation. I also had a rodent issue that was not their fault during the demo of my kitchen. Because of the rodent situation I paid a lot of money from my house to get sealed up and asked that they be careful to seal off everything so they don't get back in. I came home one day to the door to the garage completely off of his hinges and I had to seal it up with garbage bags and duct tape myself. After the no shows, poor communication, mismeasurement, adding the door, very little work getting done in 4 months and leaving the door open. I wanted out of my contract. I made my first complaint to owner F. He told me that it is their legal right to show up once every 90 days to avoid contract abandonment. I felt as if I was being held hostage. Their contract only protects them, not you. Lesson learned. Owner F saying this did not inspire trust and he has a way of speaking to people from a place of power that you can tell he really enjoys. The overall vibe is... you have a complaint. Too bad and let me tell you in the contract where I've got you beat. Work came to a standstill when owner M told me that they could not do any further work until the countertops were installed by a different company so we were waiting on that company. He stated that all of the materials were at that company and they were working on it .But it turns out that was not accurate. Lowe's started calling me for payment and that countertop company started calling me because they could not reach NorCal. This was exhausting. I had been asking owner M for a door knob for weeks and texting him to make sure that he paid the countertops so that they could be shipped and I got very little or inaccurate information back. My significant other decided it was time to get involved after he heard a very rude conversation between myself and owner F on speaker phone. He also knew that I was getting the runaround from owner M. So he went to their shop to have a discussion. Only owner M was there. My SO said that the entire conversation was ridiculous excuses and after he left our shop I received a text from owner F letting me know that if my SO ever came on to their property or spoke to any of their employees they would get a restraining order. This was the last straw for me. Owner F's response was a complete overreaction intended to intimidate us rather than take any responsibility for poor service and lack of communication. There were more issues but I think you get the point. Be careful who you do business with and look at your contract. The job went all the way to two days before Thanksgiving. Ekkk. The only positive was one of their employees was a really fantastic person. Great communicator, hard worker and had a positive attitude. I also really appreciated his craftsmanship and am happy with my kitchen overall.

Worst experience ever working with this company. They don’t answer calls back and leave unfinished work for weeks. Leaving us to get a new company to come in and finish the time sensitive work that was being done. They also stored our belongings while work was being done. We received most of our stuff back today, except for a really important box they put with someone else’s storage. Two of our expensive furniture pieces also came back broken and missing legs. I cannot fathom the disrespect someone has to have to treat other peoples belongings this poorly. Will never use this company again and highly recommend that no one else does. One star only because it won’t let me do zero.
