Metro Garage Doors Repair

This "Company" is shady as hell - I think that every single other review here is fake. I selected this service based on the positive reviews, but didn't do my due diligence. I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere. MY EXPERIENCE I was looking for a same-day replacement of my torsion springs because mine were broken and the garage door was inoperable. I did a ton of research before deciding to hire it out, and knew I could order the parts for under $300 and do it myself. However, lead-time would have been 5 days and I couldn't wait that long. I called Metro and was referred to a tech, and made sure to get a verbal estimate of $350-500 - ensuring he knew the model (Clopay Avante) and that it needed 4 springs, not just two. From the moment the tech, "Isaac", arrived, he was sleazily trying to upsell me - "Oh, this is a _commercial door_" (it wasn't) and "It needs special, extra heavy-duty springs" (it didn't). He tried to get me to agree to $1200 for the job. But I pushed back hard, and he verbally agreed to do it for $600 and started the job. HOWEVER, once he got the spring lift mechanism completely apart - in pieces on my garage floor - he claimed there were several more problems: "This bar is damaged, needs to be replaced for $300" (a few rough spots needed to be filed down); "The springs I have have in my truck won't work, I MUST go get upgraded ones that cost more!" (complete BS - because I didn't trust him, I verified through an online torsion spring calculator that the wire & spring rate would of the springs he had would work for the weight & travel of my door). The final straw: when he told me the install was complete, I tested the balance of the garage door (whether it stays up on it's own without the drive motor connect, and stays down when down when down), The balance was completely off and was very heavy to lift by hand! If I didn't already have familiarity with garage doors, this extra stress would have burned out the motor in short order! I got him fix it and leave. In hindsight, I think this "Company" is just an answering service with some "technicians" who respond on a whoever-is-available basis. I question whether they have any certifications or are insured in any way for liability to people and persons on your property - a huge reason why you pay professionals. TL:DR Overall, very poor experience - unethical business practices with questionable workmanship. Stay away.

I’m very satisfied with the service I received. The technicians were punctual, courteous, and clearly knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue efficiently, explained the fix, and completed the repair quickly. The price was reasonable for the quality of work, and they left the area clean. If you need reliable, professional garage door repair, this is the team you want to call.
