Raven Restoration

Had Glenn come out to restore several windows on my 1880s Victorian in Hayes Valley. He came highly recommended and lived up to the expectations. Glenn was thorough, communicative, and clearly knows his stuff when it comes to original Victorian millwork. The windows came out great, they are operating smoothly and looking the way they were meant to. He’s the kind of contractor who takes real pride in the work, not just getting it done and moving on. Already planning to have him back to help with our front door. Highly recommend for anyone with a historic home who wants someone who actually respects the original character of the building.

We hired Glenn at Raven Restoration to get the original windows in our 1927 Mediterranean back in working order. The prior owners had painted over things and hadn't kept them working. Out of 7 windows, none opened fully and only 4 opened a few inches. After Glenn worked his magic all 7 fully open and close again! Glenn was a pleasure to work with. He showed up when he said he would, did a good job setting expectations on what was his responsibility vs ours, did thorough cleanup and was responsive to phone and email. Plus - he maintains a current contractor's license and pricing was reasonable for the work done. Our final bill was higher than the estimate but we needed extensive glazing compound added to the windows (which was clearly called out as a possibility in the estimate). With older houses you can't always see what you're working with until you get in there. He's in demand (working on older windows is a skill set that's hard to find) so I'd recommend getting on his job list.

I contacted Glenn about restoring our 1880's Victorian door. I live in Livermore, so it turned out not to be feasible to use his services, but he spent nearly 30 minutes discussing what should be done to improve the appearance and functionality of our door. He gave me excellent advice and was patient with all my questions. I really appreciate that he took his time with me even though he knew I wasn't going to be an actual customer. I only wish I could be!
