I had only a couple of days to prepare the house to care for an elderly family member. The carpets were pretty rough and the bathrooms were in a bad way, especially the shower stalls. I spoke to Shawn on a Friday, he came by on Saturday to look at what needed to be done and provide an estimate, and by Monday morning he and his crew were hard at work. Shawn was very accommodating and professional, and he and his crew, Chris and Nolan, really went about their work with vigor. When they were done a few hours later, the place looked fantastic - the carpet and kitchen floor hadn’t looked that good in years, and they had restored the bathrooms and shower stalls to a presentable state. I was very happy with their work and would recommend them highly.

I recently had a huge kitchen sink water spillage accident where tons of running water seeped through the wood floor of my entire kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry closet as it’s one continuous open space in my condo apartment. After researching and talking to several professional water mitigation companies to come mitigate damages to my property, it was immediately obvious to me that Shawn gave me the most confidence! Shawn is the owner of ServPro of SF/San Bruno and he spent over 40mins talking to me on the phone on a long weekend night, patiently answering all of my minutiae questions. He is also one of the few places that’s owner owned and where the owner actually comes onsite to inspect damages and does the actual water mitigation work, which shows in his amazing reviews. This is the first time I had ever encountered an emergency like this and I had no idea what to do with its sudden occurrence. I am super grateful that Shawn and his team were there to hold my hands throughout the process and helped me navigate this very scary and stressful experience! I could not have asked and found a better team! Hands-down I would highly recommend Shawn and his team to anyone in need of a professional water mitigation team. If I could, I would give Shawn a 6-star review because there are so many things I can’t rave enough about working with Shawn! Right off the bat, I could tell Shawn was super knowledgeable and experienced, with over 17yrs of experience, in what he does. In interacting with him further over the course of the ~1 week mitigation project, I found him to be super professional and respectful of the furnitures in my home while he and his team were working onsite and moving things around in my apartment. He consistently and patiently answered my questions and educated me, including providing helpful information on how the insurance claim process works, which is a plus for someone like me who has never opened a homeowner claim before. As this was such a stressful situation for me, another quality I really appreciated about Shawn was that he often injected humor into our conversations and interactions, which made this very unwanted experience a much more pleasant journey and much less scary. Being able to work with someone who is super communicative and consistently clear in their communications like Shawn made all the difference for me! I am just all-around super impressed by the professionalism and care that Shawn and his team displayed. I felt taken care of and had full trust in Shawn and his team doing the right things and doing things right, which is super important when strangers are ripping out wood floors and drywalls in your home. In the end, Shawn and his team had to remove all of the wood/vinyl and underlayment for my kitchen, dining room, living room, and laundry closet, plus part of my kitchen cabinets and some drywalls as they were not salvageable, but they did try to salvage as much as possible including my kitchen cabinet doors. After the demolition, they put plenty of industrial fans and dehumidifier in the space for couple days to dry out. Shawn personally came in to check on the dryness of my place every other day, each time giving me good communication on when I should expect him. After everything was dried out and the industrial equipments were taken out, Shawn also vacuumed my place with a HEPA filter vacuum and helped me move back the furnitures. He left the place clean. Lastly, even after Shawn was done with the project, he was happy to answer my questions about my kitchen cabinets, wood floor, and underlayment that were removed, which were crucial information I needed in order to source the right new material to reinstall. It was such a pleasure to work with someone like Shawn during a mini-disaster. I told Shawn that I really hope that I will never need his service again, but should I ever need a water mitigation company’s service again, I’ll no doubt reach out to him again! Shawn Newton and his team are consummate professionals. He completed a water remediation project on my home in San Francisco and I was very happy with the work at the time. However, I did not recognize how important Shawn's meticulous detail orientation would be in the next phases of the project. I am learning now what a great job he did since the contractors have begun the repair process. They have commented that Shawn did a "super clean" job and were marveling at how much he was able to save. They talked about similar jobs working behind water remediation teams who were not as careful and how much trouble that creates for them.
