Tim recently consulted with me on a very difficult tile job. I was so struck by Tim's level headed, factual, detailed and easy to understand consult. I feel that he saved me thousands of dollars and countless hours. I can't wait until I have another project, as Tim is the very first guy I will call. 10 stars if I could!! Thank you Tim!

I had some issues with cement floor tiles laid down by another contractor. Even though I was out of Tim's service area, it looked like he had relevant experience to speak to the issue and the possible fixes. Tim offers fee consulting so I reached out for a neutral, unbiased assessment of my flooring situation. I uploaded several pictures through Tim's consulting portal and he promptly responded the next day. We discussed possible causes and solutions and Tim provided contact info for a couple of contractors in my area with specific experience dealing with cement floor tiles. All in all a very positive experience.

I liked Tim. He seemed friendly and knowledgeable. Although his estimate seemed high, I chose him to refinish my tile floor. The floor never looked quite as good as I'd hoped, but it looked a lot better than before, and I was pleased at first. However, over the next year the finish deteriorated, especially in the kitchen. After about 18 months, I called Tim, expecting that he would come over, take a look, and find a solution. But although I called him four times, over as many months, he never returned my calls. The lack of customer support is alarming. I would NOT recommend Tim Lee or his company, North Bay Restorations, because if you have any problems after you've paid for the work, he won't help you. In fact, he won't even talk to you. ADDENDUM: Today, more than 2 years after my review, Tim has posted a response. It would have been nice of him to explain his position to me years ago. His failure to follow through was the reason I submitted a review in the first place. Notice that in the review above I'm not complaining about his personality or his workmanship, but only about his failure to return my calls. Now, after a surprisingly long time, he defends himself with a personal attack on me. The fact doesn't seem to have liked me as a person is irrelevant. The fact I chose a low-sheen finish is irrelevant. The fact we misunderstood one another about furniture-moving is irrelevant. Here's what *is* relevant: failure to return calls is poor customer service. And, for the record, I do not believe my calls were rude, though I am sure they grew increasingly alarmed as I called four times--over a period of as many months--without receiving a single call back.
