General Roofing

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This contractor (Joel) certified the roof of a home I was in the process of purchasing. He issued the certification on March 10, 2020 early afternoon. I called him at 4pm and asked what repairs were made from the list given to him. He indicated none. We had him come out to the home and go line by line as to why the repairs wouldn’t be needed. He indicated he would return to seal a duct on the flat roof section. In two places he said no repairs were required and the roof was fine, the roof leaked. The first leak three days after he certified the roof. When we called him he said he wasn’t going to honor the certification because escrow wasn’t closed. (We were literally a few hours away from closing). After some back and forth with the seller he was out to fix the leak on the porch section. They explained he was confused with the escrow process. Okay. I get it. But then two weeks later another leak popped up where he said he came back and sealed it. In fact FIVE MORE leaks occurred in the spaces he said didn’t need repairs. Four leaks in the homes interior in the same location and two on the porch. The first time I called him he indicated he had “31 leaking houses” and “what do you want me to do about it?” I had to call the realtor and have the realtor tell him to fix the leak. He never once responded to my own phone calls and only responded to my texts when I included a male realtor. His crews eventually came out and inspected the interior of the hime where the leak was ruining my ceiling as well as the exterior roof. They would “fix it” and it wouldn’t leak until the next rain and then this process would repeat. Two months ago Mr. Lorona came to my home and proceeded to tell me that my home was his nightmare. Not only was this unprofessional but it was a slap in the face since his inability to perform his job was what was causing MY nightmare. I made him aware that I was not happy with his work product or professionalism and that I was looking into getting an attorney or seeking recourse for the damage. His reply was... “go ahead. I’ve been down this road before and I win. I have a contract with you.” Well... the contract reads that leaks would be repaired and fixed. Which has not been the case. Since there has been six leaks in under one year in the same two areas. He told me that he was unaware I was upset or having someone else fix the roof. When I asked him how many more attempts I should give him to fix the roof he indicated it could be “10 or 15” times. I was pretty dumbfounded that he actually believed that a homeowner should allow someone 15 attempts to fix a leak. I eventually hired a company to come out and remove that section of roof to the tune of 3200.00. I have also filed a complaint with the state contractors board and will be filing a complaint against his bond. I encourage anyone else that this yahoo has screwed over to do the same!

Awful service and craftsmen ship. After trying to get ahold of owner patiently for 3 months, he shows up to take care of a roof that he certified and does repairs without my consent/ approval of material or color and ends up not matching rest of roof. Refused to fix it and left horrible work. Now I have tan torch down that’s wrapped on to my white exterior facia board and roofing that’s hanging 2 inches past my roof. Looks awful. yet wants me to pay to for his own mess up. Please don’t do what I did and waist your time/ money!!
