Sunnyside Roofing, Inc. did a fantastic job on my roofing project, and I couldn’t be happier with their service. The team was professional and thorough, ensuring everything was perfect from start to finish. They always arrived on time and communicated clearly, which made the whole process easy for me. A special mention for their smart fix on the downspout – it used to direct water onto my driveway but now it's set up to water my plants, showing their great attention to detail. For anyone looking for reliable roofing services, I can’t recommend Sunnyside Roofing enough. A big thank you for an excellent job!

I used Sunnyside roofing for a full roof replacement on my home in San Anselmo last fall based on reviews here and the recommendation of our solar company. We've had friendly service from Juan Hernandez, but serious concerns with the quality of work from the very start. Now we have numerous leaks, each at points where new flashing or vents were installed, and the company is not standing behind its warantee or even responding to requests to temporarily protect our home during ongoing rains. The problems began at the start. After the initial work was "completed" we found significant lapses, including areas where flashing or drip edges had been forgotten, a soffit-to-roof connection left without roofing altogether, just open plywood, messy finishing on the edges where waterproof liners hung out past the edge of the roof, open corners for water intrusion at drip edge corners, damaged eaves and trim with errant saw cuts, exposed nails that came through our ceiling, redwood boards replaced with plywood, shingle siding removed without authorization, and so on. Our punch list contained about 12 serious items of concern. Even after many of those items were attended to, Sunnyside failed its first inspection with the town, for insufficient attic venting. The Sunnyside crew was not familiar with local wildfire requirements, which meant that their bid was inacurate and their materials were insufficient. The crew was also not familiar with all aspects of California Building Code -- They did not know how to calculate proper attic venting, or how many vents would be needed to meet the requirement. It sought payment on the job anyhow, arguing that the bringing the attic ventilation to code was not a part of the contract, even though the contract included a proper ventilation system. (they estimated the wrong one, because they weren't familiar with the code). Then the real problems began. Three months later, during the first rain of the season, a 4x6 foot section of the new roof tiles blew off, leaving exposed roof. It appeared the shingles may not have been nailed down at the proper spacing. Sunnyside repaired that problem under warantee. But first it attempted to blame the failure on me, suggesting that I had tampered with the shingles on the roof causing them to come loose. A month after that our vaulted living room ceiling began to leak, and further inspection in the attic identified at least five additional leak points, including at two of the additional vents that Sunnyside installed in order to finally pass inspection. We have sought an urgent response from Sunnyside as the rain continues, and damage in our attic continues. It has now been 10 days and the company's representative has not delivered their promised plan to address the leaks nor has it completed the water tests it said were necessary to pinpoint the leaks. It has not responded to voice mail messages left with management, only emails. It is now denying the leaks are their responsibility, and refusing to honor their warrantee or repair the leaks. Subsequent investigation revealed faulty flashing installation by Sunnyside at the leak points that does not meet building code. Sunnyside has since threatened us legally for filing complaints, sent us an invoice for $900 for their time in reviewing our case, and has now decided they will not honor their warrantee.

Stay away. Terrible experience. Hired to re-do our light well decking. Their 'fix' made our leaking issues worse. They even installed a gutter at a negative slope. The contacts Juan and Felix were rude and swore at us over email. We have to tear out and re-do all the work they did.
