Master Roofing Company

I would avoid giving Master Roofing Company any stars if I could. We are dealing with a recurring roof leak that this company refuses to properly fix without trying to price-gouge us. The roof was originally installed by them in June 2023 with a 5-year workmanship warranty. We bought the house in November 2024, and the roof leaked immediately during the December 2024 rains. Their team came out and attempted a repair in early 2025, which proves they initially acknowledged responsibility. However, the exact same leak reoccurred in the same exact spot during the December 2025–January 2026 rains. The underlying issue was never actually fixed. When we contacted the owner, Danny, he completely shifted goalposts to evade the 5-year warranty. He is now claiming the warranty is non-transferable simply because the house changed hands. We have thoroughly reviewed the original contract, and there is absolutely no clause stating the warranty is non-transferable. When we asked him to provide the specific written terms to back up his claim, he couldn't do it. Instead of honoring their workmanship, they sent us an outrageous repair quote. They are trying to charge us $6,250 to fix a very small, isolated part of the roof—even though the original invoice to redo the entire roof was only $7,250! Charging nearly the price of a brand-new roof for a tiny repair is absolute extortion. Getting them on the phone is almost impossible because their voicemail box is constantly full, and emails are routinely ignored until you threaten legal action. They have left us with no choice but to take this to small claims court and file an official complaint with the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB). Avoid Master Roofing Company. They do not stand behind their workmanship, they use fake loopholes to void their warranties, and they will try to scam you with thousands in repair fees for their own defective mistakes.

These guys saved us - our insurance dropped us and we had to get a new roof before the rains and before we were uninsured! They came to our rescue, came in on time and on schedule and were completely professional. Would use them again in a heartbeat and encourage everyone else to do the same!

They repaired a part of my roof that another big company messed up and refused to fix. Sunny and his team fixed it, and also patched another problem on my roof at a good price. I didn’t know they were a local small business as they had been referred to me by a neighbor so I was extra happy that not only were they great but I was supporting a nice Oakland built business. Highly recommend them for your roof needs.
