Every once in awhile a great place has an off day. Sometimes it's just an off employee. Several weeks back I had a passive encounter with an employee at the counter in jackson. She was not directly helping me but had a strong opinion. I wrote it off as not a big deal as she was not directly helping me. However today it was just her and I. It was one of those teachable moments of customer service that you as a customer have to process if it is worth the conversation or not. I left the establishment without any product and went to the local competition. Scenario: called an hour before I arrived to ask about the product I needed. Was assured they had what I needed in stock. I told the nice gentleman that I would be right down. When I arrived I was greated with a visibly frazzled and sweaty employee behind the counter. I said that I was here to pick up, a riser and lid. I had called earlier. She asked what brand I asked her if she kept records from my earlier order. She asked if I had an account, I don't, she said it would take her 3 hours to research and it wasn't worth it. Then we discussed what I needed. She said we don't have those in stock. Another gentleman said I seen them in the warehouse. After a bit of research she then told me that after I called in that Ace Hardware in another town 30 minutes away reserved them and if I needed them today I could drive there and buy them. The ones that were sitting in her warehouse... I could drive and purchase them from Ace Hardware...??? Now a normal rational person can figure out that I can not go to purchase and pick up a product from a different organization when the product is sitting 30 feet from her. Looking at my face she could see that I was not happy and her flipped response was "Sorry!?!" You know that kind of sorry that comes with the eye roll and hair flip. So I left and went to Ferguson's. They were nice, friendly, helpful and had the products I needed... without the I have zero 🤬 left attitude from the employee behind the counter.

Will call order was ready when I walked in and I was out of there with just a few minutes. All employees were wearing their masks and I will do business with them again.
