Capitola Pump Co Inc

I had a great experience with Capitola Pump and two of their employees Jacob and Kenny. I had to replace my old 5000 HDPE gallon water storage tank with a new one. The project was additionally complicated by the fact that a crane was needed to lift the new tank over our garage before it could be installed. The Capitola Pump team were knowledgeable, easy to work with, helped coordinate the install and I'm very happy with the results.

Very unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. I am on the board of a water system they serviced. They damaged the equipment from another company at which I have a good rapport, and they blamed them to cover up their malfeasance. There is no way this company legally holds a pump contractors license.

Had a new pump installed in November, was VERY clear in my questions and dealings regarding the total cost, etc., Paid my outstanding immediately and received no further invoices (though in all fairness, they claim to have sent) and they now saying I owe nearly $900 for the labor alone. I had assumed the quote they provided was inclusive of labor as NO information about their rather exorbitant rates was provided and I frankly think they padded the bill. In fact, I had an impression at the time that they shorted out my existing pump, but I'll take them on their word. I'll pay them as they have me over a barrel, but I'd have sought bids had they quoted me their $170+/hr rate x2 for two guys (one of whom just stood around). They were also saying my pressure tank was going to need replacement, but I argued, had them check pressure then add air and it worked fine--glad I pushed it. I notice at least one other review on Yelp making a very similar claim. I won't be using them again and have a bad taste in my mouth over the whole experience. I can't really prove it though and it's not worth it over less than $1000, but I think they're less than honest in their dealings and they most definitely don't tell you the WHOLE cost when you ask. Be very careful and watch and time them carefully if you do hire. NOT recommended.
