Strickland Termite Control

Mike Strickland with Strickland Termite knows what he is doing and is thorough and professional. I recommend him to all my clients and feel very comfortable when he is the structural pest control inspector. I use him for my own home. I was surprised by some Yelp reviews. I have worked with him for more than 25 years and when I question him about fungus, "Where is it? Show me?", he shows up and shows me where his little poker has found soft (rotten) wood. And there it is. It can be a little or it can be a lot... which sometimes signifies a much greater problem. I always recommend for the client to be at the inspection and have Mike point things out and show them. Sometimes the "fungus" is just a little bit of rotten wood that can be easily remedied by removing a small portion of the bottom of a door jamb...or it can be an entire rim joist. As for powder post beetle, termite, etc. he is excellent at finding those nasty little guys. The evidence has to be visible (not covered by insulation or similar) and it has to be accessible (Mike is, I assume, wider than 12" so he can't squeeze in anywhere). He also suggests further inspection, since he can't see through walls and insulation, when he thinks it is warranted. If he suggests further inspection, do it. It may be nothing or it may be a much bigger issue, but at least you will know. I find his suggestions reasonable. If you do not think so, I would assume that someone did not meet him at the property to look at things and speak to him. Do that and you will find him to be professional, approachable, reasonable and correct.

Mike completed a pest inspection for us. He was very personable, professional, and generous with his time for answering questions/reviewing the property with us. He worked us into his already very busy schedule on a tight turnaround. He provided a clear and comprehensive report which included a diagram of the property, detailed information for each found concern, and itemized costs. I will use Strickland again in the future with confidence.
