I’ve hired Olson’s Painting several times over the years and they have consistently done excellent work. Myron Olson specializes in Alameda’s older Victorian homes, and that expertise really shows. Houses like these require careful preparation and an understanding of how to handle lead paint safely, along with attention to the detailed trim work that makes these homes special. Myron’s crew clearly knows what they’re doing. They’re professional, careful with the property, and thorough with prep and cleanup. I highly recommend Olson’s Painting.

I have a Victorian style house in Oakland, built circa 1900. I hired Olsen Painting partly because of their experience with Victorians. The crew did a great job: very thorough, and very professional. I also appreciated the extra benefit to work with a color specialist to decide on what colors to paint the house, and how to take advantage of the design the architect built in to choose where to place the colors. I am very pleased with the result, and my neighbors have said good things. (My next-door neighbor was able to watch the painting crew at work, and was impressed at how much effort they were putting in.)

Our Victorian house was last painted in 1991, and the paint was peeling and looking sad. I had seen the excellent work Olson’s Painting (OP) had done on other houses (including my next-door neighbor) and I did not need to get any other bids. One secret to their success is their extensive prep work carefully filling any cracks or voids prior to painting. OP also has master craftsman who refabricated the Witches Cap on top of the tower (which was broken and missing pieces) and fixed various issues with doors and windows. Although we were using the same multi-color scheme, Myron Olson suggested color upgrades which were welcomed. Myron is a pleasure to work with. People walking past the house tell us how great the new paint job looks (which makes our day).
