For people who have a solid understanding of retaining wall construction: the pricing is fair, and they offer a wide selection of beautiful stone. Delivery is available, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They also carry solid retaining wall blocks that are commonly used by experienced and expert wall builders. These are the same type of blocks frequently referenced by professionals (for example, builders featured on YouTube channels like Dirt Monkey). A particularly nice touch is that they also stock factory half blocks, which makes layout, corners, and clean terminations much easier without excessive cutting. However, there are some important quality issues worth noting. The 3/4” angular drain rock contains a significant amount of dust and fine particles. It is not properly washed, even though the price is comparable to cleaned drain rock in the market. While this does not completely eliminate drainage function, it is definitely not ideal and can negatively affect long-term performance. The SRW 3oz non-woven filter fabric is, frankly, inadequate for real retaining wall drainage. If you wrap drain rock behind a retaining wall with this fabric and then place about 6 inches of soil on top for planting, clogging is almost guaranteed. Once fine soil migrates into the fabric, water flow is quickly blocked. For comparison, I later purchased 8oz non-woven filter fabric, which performs significantly better in terms of filtration and long-term permeability. The geogrid selection is acceptable and was available (Allan Block biaxial geogrid). However, the stronger direction (thicker strands) runs longitudinally, which is not ideal for retaining wall applications. As a result, the grid must be cut into pieces to orient it correctly. Overall, they offer many beautiful stone options and good availability. But when it comes to the quality of drain rock and filter fabric, I strongly recommend doing your own research and verification. At the very least, do not assume the supplied materials meet drainage-grade standards without checking.

Very helpful staff. The samples are labeled by binary or row as to where on site you can find items, like rocks. Load your car or truck and then park in a space. Go to counter to give them name of item(s) and quantity . They will check. Pay at desk and your good to go. They have fork lifts and a bulldozer to load large items or quantities. Great selection of stone and rock.

It's a fair assessment to say that Broadmoor Landscape Supply is the best Peninsula option for all small yard and large landscaping projects. If you are serious about quality products then you will locate everything on site. I designed my whole yard using products from Broadmoor. A word of perspective, landscaping products are not cheap nor for the faint of heart so be prepared to come out of pocket. My favorite items are the Mexican Red rocks, Salmon Bay rocks, and various types of decomposed granite. The front line yard staff are very helpful and have plenty of knowledge. I recommend a visit.
