Rudi Schafer responded immediately to look at what I thought was a simple, leaky window removal project but turned out to be a nearly complete replacement of a two story garage wall and supporting foundation due to years of secret, termite destruction. He took one look at the situation and immediately recognized the problem. He presented the solution with close monitoring from beginning to end. From the design plan, through the permit process, a few changes that needed to be made along the way, and the inspections, everything was handled on time with precision. Everyone on the crew who worked on this project was friendly, completely professional, always showed up on time, with all materials needed, left the site clean at the end of the day and answered all of my questions. At the office, Rudi Schafer and his project management team are first class professionals who kept in close contact with me every step of the way. The project finished on time and on budget. Sam Chaires was the supervisor and Jay the carpenter. They worked well together, very experienced, they cleaned up site every evening and put all tools away. I was very pleased with their work and knowledge. I got a new balcony and they found lots of dry rot under stucco that had to be replaced, job doubled but they had the knowledge to complete job. Alameda permit inspector was impressed with their quality of work. I would highly recommend Sam and Jay.

I spent the better part of a year working with Rudi Schafer, Edgar Serpas and the entire Schafer team on a major external remodeling project. The work included: replacing a retaining wall, front fencing, and the front walkway as well as tearing down and rebuilding three external decks. They also replaced about 50 external boards on my house that had significant warping or sun damage. I cannot speak highly enough about the team and the work that they did. Rudi and Edgar communicated proactively, provided options and where it made sense and gave me their professional recommendation. They are both detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable.
