I visited Gaidona & Sons to find a gentleman who had once helped me move, and I was trying to track him down to repay his kindness. When I entered, I approached a man sitting at a desk on the left-hand side. I asked him whether the person I was seeking worked there, as he was wearing a polo shirt with their logo on it. Instead of answering, he laughed and made a racial remark. The only professional and decent human being that day was a kind woman who came out to answer my question, but this incident illustrates the kind of behavior one can expect to encounter from European-Americans in Marin County when non-white. As someone who grew up in Marin County, one thing has changed dramatically, and that’s the level of racism that has increased among European-Americans in Marin County towards the Hispannic and African American Communities.

We had Excellent experience with them painting our upstairs interior in Mill Valley, including trim, skylights, and ceilings. Two wall colors and a different trim. Excellent advice from Dave Gaidano prior to starting the job. The crew were courteous and careful.The whole upstairs looks brighter. They painted atop new carpeting without dripping a spot. Very careful prep work. They were adaptable and fair when I realized I had made a color mistake and wanted them to repaint two big landing walls. (The cost of the repainting essentially was a wash with a closet we decided not to paint -- in fact it came out a little in our favor.) We picked them because they were Diamond Certified and we were so impressed with Dave when he came to estimate the job. Their bid was the middle bid, pricewise. We had such a good experience, we are now having them restain the two story house exterior and paint the trim. I am sorry to see that a single one-star post from someone whose complaint had nothing to do with house painting, and possibly did not even involve the right business, is pulling their ratings down severely from 5 stars reviews like mine.
