American Door Company inc.

A bear bent our shop door and I thought we would have to spend a fortune to replace it all. I called, they said they could come out today, got a call saying they were 1/2 hour away. They showed up and had it fixed in 10 minutes for $140. Personable folks and we were as happy as clams. Nice to have good workmen for a change. Thank you.

American Door company is really HORRIBLE and if I could give a zero I would. Simple door opener job on an existing perfectly functioning manual door for our shop and they completely blew it. For over 5 months nothing but issues and the door opener never worked properly. Trip after trip blaming the users and not taking responsibility. In the initial install they put the opener up and completely damaged the electronic boards inside the opener itself to the point the openers wouldn’t work and blamed it on Lift Master. The next trip they didn’t tighten the opener up on the wall and it all but fell off creating a bind resulting in track and door damage and again blaming Lift Master. Next trip they put bars in the door track and were prying on the guides completely bending them out of alignment which they could never rectify and caused damage to our perfectly good door. The Owners son Dan was horrible to work with and wants to point the finger at others to include Lift Master and the paying customer for the damage that the opener coupled with them prying on our door created. Another trip back out they took a piece of house trim and shoved it into the door which caused the door to jam in the up position on a Friday morning. We called them back yet again and they said their guy wouldn’t have done that, all of which is on our security cameras, and said we cant get out there we are to busy. What about the customer who paid for a job to be done which never completed. This after 5 months of this being completely wrong leaving our shop unsecured. This was the last straw for us as we had been patient. They then said well we will just come get it in a few days and refund you. We contacted another local company, Moule, that came right out and looked at the opener and helped us get the door unjammed and looked over the system showing all the things that they did wrong from the opener about to fall off the wall again to the pried apart track and completely misaligned and damaged door. They said they would have to install a new opener due to the damage done by American Door. The other company Moule is now fixing all the issues created by American Door and several months later we are still waiting for the refund of 2k that they promised to refund quickly. These guys are crooks and Dan is a flat out liar. Follow up to the owner reply. Dan from American sent the other company out there because American couldn't get it fixed. Don't forget the part where American threatened to sue if the review wasnt taken down. You can see how that worked out. Shady

Had a garage door spring break, if you’ve had it happen it kinda sucks when you can’t use your garage door at all. We called American Door Company, they came out within a day or two and it took them probably about 20 minutes to replace our spring and clean and live up the other one! Tim and his helper were awesome, professional and efficient. We also got a call before they headed out and they were accurate to the estimated time window, which is always great! We really appreciate it, thanks guys!!
