Bay Area Fencing Club

This club has been wonderful for our two boys. Our younger boy loves the "Little Pirates" class for 5-6 years which is a great balance of learning fundamentals and play. Our older boy has enjoyed the beginner and intermediate classes, as well as options for private lessons. Most importantly, Coach Lisa is really wonderful and accommodating with schedule changes and makes youth sports way less stressful. Our kids love all the staff here and it feels incredibly welcoming. Would absolutely recommend if you are considering it.

This fencing club is an outstanding place for fencers of all levels. The facilities are excellent and well-maintained, and the location is incredibly convenient. What truly sets it apart, though, is the welcoming atmosphere—everyone is friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. The coaching staff is exceptional across the board. Every coach brings skill and dedication, and it shows in the quality of training. Coach Vakhob has been working with my sons for the past 4–5 years, and the consistency, care, and progress we’ve seen over that time have been remarkable. He is able to build a rapport with the fencers he teaches and brings out the best in them. He is there for them whether they win or lose, and thats important for the kids to feel supported at all times. Coach Nate has recently started working with him and he is so caring, that he even checking in with him when he's away at competitions. He also has a knack for working with beginners making fencing fun for them. The club does a fantastic job catering to everyone—from complete beginners just starting out to high-level international fencers competing up to the World Cup. It’s a place where anyone can grow, improve, and feel part of a strong fencing community.

My daughter has been taking private lessons and attending group classes here for about a year now. She was brand new to fencing when she started here and is loving it! The coaches do a great job of helping the kids improve while keeping it fun. Private lessons have also really helped my daughter improve as well. I have also seen how supportive the coaching staff is of students during competitions. If you are interested in getting your child started with fencing or are trying to find a new club to enroll your child at, I highly recommend Bay Area Fencing Club.
