We highly recommend Mendez Electric for any electrical work or general contract and remodeling work you need done on your home. We hired Mendez Electric, a multi-generational family business, in 2024 at the recommendation of a neighbor who had used them to completely rewire their 100-year-old home in Berkeley's Elmwood neighborhood. Mendez Electric did a full inspection and report of the older electric system in our home, which still included a lot of knob and tube. We ultimately hired Mendez Electric to undertake a major electrical project (a six-figure project over a few months), which included 1) an Electrical System/Wiring Upgrade (a complete system/wiring upgrade) and 2) installation of a 300 amp service panel upgrade. This work included all relevant permitting and coordination with PGE. Mendez Electric’s staff are smart, highly knowledgeable, efficient, communicative, competitively priced, and focused on high customer service. We have hired Mendez Electric in subsequent months to handle smaller jobs, e.g., adding electric capacity for a hot tub, installing wiring for a wall-mounted TV, moving electrical vents and fans, allowing us to install a new roof and solar panels, installing and repairing our SimpliSafe alarm system, including installing a new transformer for our SimpliSafe doorbell.
