Winning Windows

Update: Alex ensured all the issues I experienced below were resolved, at his expense. I appreciated his follow-up to get everything fixed. ----------------------------- I worked with Alex to update all the windows in my home + in-law unit in 2022, after Winning Windows was recommended to me by several people in my neighborhood. Alex had just purchased the company from the founder when I started working with him. He was extremely pleasant to work with and responsive and his prices were generally in line with other companies from whom I got quotes. Alex showed me three different types of windows as options. I selected the middle-priced option. I have had multiple problems with several of the windows since install and attempts to get the issues resolved have been met largely with radio silence from Alex. It's been a year and a half since install and I have given up and am writing this review. Note: I wrote a similar review previously and Alex reached out to me immediately after (after not responding to texts or calls for months) and offered to refund me + replace two of the problematic windows in exchange for taking down my review. Since it appeared he was genuinely attempting to resolve the issue, I did remove that review. However, even after re-installing the two windows issues have continued to persist and new ones have cropped up. The window installed in my closet must not have been sealed properly because I have constant moisture in the closet which did not exist before changing the window out. My clothes are damp (and in some cases got moldy and had to be thrown away). I have a range of moisture absorbers on constant rotation in the closet and they fill up with water quickly. Alex did refund me for the cost of this window and replaced it. However, the problem persists. Three of the other windows he installed have condensation on them routinely. One had mold growing on it. It took Alex over a year to install the screen in the bathroom, after multiple unanswered texts and calls...and it's not the right size. It is too small for the window so when the window is open there is a hole large enough for bugs to get in. The windows he installed in the bedrooms have a different opening type than the windows he showed me/I expected to be installed. They don't slide - they open out using a crank mechanism. One result of this is a window that opens directly onto my front porch. Besides the obvious safety issue this presents, people coming up to my porch are met with an awkward window jutting out into the space. An additional problem with this window choice is that the crank mechanism at the bottom disallows for a tight seal with light-blocking blinds. So there is always light filtering in. It would have been great if Alex had thought through these issues, and communicated them to me, before installing this type of window in my bedrooms. In summary, Winning Windows installed poor window choices, several of which do not appear to be sealed properly, and a bathroom screen which doesn't fit. After being communicative initially during the purchase and installation process, Alex' s communication went way downhill and these issues remain unresolved. It saddens me to write this review as Alex is a genuinely nice person.

I ordered windows replaced and it was relatively easy. We ordered and then installation took a day, plus another day for removing a window. Alex was also helpful with recommendations for painters as I work on updating my kitchen.

We had a great experience working with this business. Alex came out to our home right away, gave us all the options, explained everything, and was very honest and straightforward. He gave me advice and information about other windows in our home and did not appear to prioritize making a sale. The window he installed was perfect.
