Madden Door and Sons

In short, I clipped the top of my garage door while backing out one morning. In a panic to secure the garage, I pretty much destroyed it. The door was old and cheap with no insulation and had a bad crack at the bottom. It was only a matter of time before it would need to be replaced, I just sped the process up a bit. So I called Madden around 2pm knowing full well there wasn't a chance in hell someone would be available to secure the door and my garage this late in the day. I think the person who answered the phone could hear the stress in my voice. To my surprise one of their techs was in Clayton on a new install and would come over as soon as they finished the job. Rob showed up about an hour or so later and we had a good chuckle over the "number" I had done on the door and he assured me that he had seen worse. Rob went to work and had the old door secure and had measurements for the new one in about 15 minutes. We talked about options and he called the office for a price quote and I had a new door on order in less than an hour. Mary at the office called a bit later and told me the door would be here in less than a week and they would be able to install it the same day. On install day Rob, whom I requested to do the work, showed up on time and had the new door up in about 4 hours. I mention Rob again for special kudos because he listened to my needs for more height clearance for my tall truck and delivered on them! By reworking the garage door opener, springs and mounting points for tracks he achieved over two and 1/2 inches of additional clearance for my vehicle. From start to finish Madden Door, their efficient and friendly front office and my terrific technician, made the process of buying and installing a new door a very easy, friendly and hassle free proposition! Highly recommended!

First, Keven came out and walked me through the estimate process. He listened to what I wanted and suggested top windows that weren't common to every other home in the area. We received a fair price on an insulated 15-foot door, installed. Keven stated that they had a good team of installers and gave me some history of the company that reassured me to go with them. Rob was the installer for our door. I was surprised the only one installer came out, because they were to remove our old heavy wooden door, and install the new 15-foot wide door. Seemed to me that it would be at least a two person job. Well, he was able to back his truck, with rack, under the door, safely release all bolts, and drop the door onto the truck rack. Then he safely spun it around to be straight on the rack, and immediately strapped it down. Then he methodically and safely went about installing our new door. He cleaned debris and cleared his work area with every step of the process. I was very impress with the way he work. I have 30-years building trades experience, and appreciate real professionals in perspective trades. The door looks good, works great, and the entire experince feels good. No stress, good communication. We feel very satisfied. I fully endorse and recommend these guys!

When Madden doors was truly Madden doors, they were the best company out there. Since they’ve sold to GDI, I have had nothing but bad experience getting someone out to my house. Once they get here, they are great, very experienced, a bit expensive, but competent and pleasant serviceman. This is the 3rd time that I have scheduled an appointment by calling the Madden Door number, knowing that Madden Door is not coming, it will be GDI, and this is the 3rd time that I have been called at the end of my four hour wait period To be informed that they cannot come, but will be here first thing Monday morning. I deliberately call every morning when I’ve had an appointment to confirm my appointment, I’m always given the nine to one timeframe. When I call, I’m informed that I am the second call of the day and I should have someone at my house by 11 o’clock. It never fails, 1230, I get a call Informing me that they cannot come!!! This has happened 3x before they finally show up!!! Like I said, Getting them here is the hard part, once they’re here they do OK. My negative service review it’s only because of this.
