I was dreading the window replacement process after hearing contractor nightmare stories from friends. J Replacement Windows made it painless though. The guy who came to measure was actually the owner and he was straight up about timelines and pricing. No games. They scheduled me pretty quick and called the day before to confirm. Installers were cool, let me know when they arrived and walked me through what they'd be doing. They found some rot in the framing around windows. Fixed it right then for a fair price. Windows are way quieter now and open smooth. The whole thing took less time than I expected. Good local company.

This whole thing started because one of our bedroom windows literally would not stay open anymore, like you'd prop it up and it would just slowly slide back down. We've been in this house in Hayward for about twelve years and most of the windows were original so it wasn't really a surprise. I looked at a few companies and J Replacement stood out mostly because the estimate process felt really low pressure, the person who came out measured everything and gave us options without pushing us toward the most expensive one. We ended up doing seven windows across the bedrooms and the kitchen. Scheduling took maybe two weeks which I thought was reasonable since we weren't in a huge rush. The install day was longer than I expected, probably like six or seven hours, but they had a system going where they'd pull one out and get the new one seated before moving on so the house was never just open to the elements or anything. The kitchen window over the sink is probably my favorite because it actually opens wide enough now to get real airflow when I'm cooking.

had two windows in the guest room that were painted shut by the previous owner. like completely sealed, couldnt budge them at all. tried a utility knife along the edges and everything, nothing worked. J Replacement came out and said the frames were also rotting underneath all that paint so replacement made more sense than trying to salvage them. new windows went in and they actually open now which sounds like a low bar but man fresh air in that room for the first time in the three years weve owned the place. guest room doesnt smell musty anymore either
