I’ve been a painting contractor for over 20 years, and in the building trades my entire adult life. In that time, I’ve worked with dozens of building contractors throughout the bay area, and have gained a lot of insight to the type of builders who know how to manage and execute a high end project. Several years ago, I was asked to bid on a project for McNeil Construction in Sonoma County. The project demanded excellent execution towards a full home remodel, and the client was very particular about the details. Brad McNeil oversaw and facilitated all phases of construction and remodeling to meet the satisfaction of this very critical client. Brad McNeil is a rare man who understands the value of each step towards a goal. The design, project coordination and execution required a great deal of research, follow-through and consistent quality in materials, management, and construction. If corners are cut, the end result suffers more with each following step. However, people like Brad consider details to be as crucial to the project as its outcome. Through his dedication to the job, down to the exact detail, Brad consistently demonstrates that the drive behind his company, work ethics, and his extensive experience is to ensure that the client will be ecstatic with the results. We hired McNeil Construction and Remodeling, Inc. to remodel the kitchen in our older ranch home in Petaluma. From the beginning, we found Brad McNeil easy to work with and very professional. The finished product was outstanding. Brad has an excellent construction team, which includes employees, as well as a group of subcontractor partners that are also among the best. Everything, from basic reconstruction, electrical, plumbing, cabinet making, painting, etc. was performed to the highest professional standards. Brad personally inspected all of the work and, if there was even the smallest problem, he was quick to pull his team back onto the job to make necessary corrections. Importantly, the job was done on time and within budget. From the beginning of the project, all of his trade teams were brought in to evaluate and discuss the project, and make suggestions regarding how design features could be improved. Since the project was completed, Brad and his team have been highly responsive to correcting any problems that have been discovered. For example, a GFI outlet failed and the electrician was out within 24-hours to replace it. A small crack appeared above an outlet where the team had replaced a window, and the painters came back to repair and repaint the wall. A cabinet lighting under-panel that had been missed during installation was fabricated and installed soon after it was discovered. We would recommend McNeil Construction and Remodeling, Inc. to anyone who is looking for a highly professional and cost effective company to perform construction or remodeling work. We continue to rely on Brad to suggest other specialty trade companies (e.g., roofing), and those companies have all performed in an excellent manner. We fully intend to call on Brad again, when we are ready to remodel our bathrooms and as we contemplate other improvements to our home.
