Truitt & White Window and Door Showroom

I went to Truitt & White for all my doors and windows for over 20 years… then shopped around and tried another shop or two over the last year. Went in today for doors and windows for two different clients. WHAT A PLEASURE!! So great to work with other professionals in the construction trades.

I will never return as a customer! In my opinion, this is not an honest company. I ordered French doors made by Plastpro (their recommendation) with direct glaze insert. T&W delivered an entirely different door with cheap molding around the glass insert. That's when the excuses and obviously false explanations started rolling in. Their sales rep "explained" that the model I ordered was not available in the size I needed, so without telling me they just delivered a different door. That door was clearly a low quality product and did not have a direct glaze insert. But their attitude was that I should be happy with the door even if it's not what I ordered and of lower quality than the one I was replacing. It gets worse. The doors came pre-hung with a threshold that does not allow the doors to close without a substantial gap at the bottom of the astragal. T&W blamed my installer despite my showing them several photographs indicating that it was a design problem. Again, they continued to blame my installer. T&W also continued to maintain that even if I got the wrong door, it was nonetheless a good quality door from Plastpro. I looked up Plastpro's catalog and found no such door, so (naturally) I asked T&W for proof that the door was made by Plastpro. NEVER RECEIVED A RESPONSE! In attempting to resolve the issue, T&W initially offered to credit me $1,000 for the door, even though I paid $2,600 for the door and $4,500 for the installation. To replace the door with one of decent quality, I would incur the cost of the new door and removal/reinstallation, involving breaking the surrounding wall, re-pastering and repainting--another $4,500. In the end, T&W refunded the full price of the door. It was obvious that they did so grudgingly. Their attitude toward me throughout was that I was simply not worth their time. (That is, by the way, how they make you feel when you visit their showroom--as other reviewers have commented. I suspect and get the feeling that if you're not a high volume customer or a contractor, they don't want to be bothered.) I simply don't believe they acted in good faith in delivering the wrong door (of very low quality). Worse, this could not have happened by "mistake." That is simply not a reasonable conclusion. Yet they continued to tell me I got a good quality Plastpro door, even though they could not show me any proof of such. To replace the doors, I have turned to a different vendor that has gone out of its way to show that they care about my project. James

The Truitt & White service team was amazing! They were friendly, professional and very easy to work with. I love my patio doors! I would highly recommend them.
