I'll try to make this short but is a long story. My wife and I decided to go with Chriswell Home Improvement because they were veteran owned business. We had our upstairs bathroom remodeled $16,709 after completing the bathroom I signed off that they completed the work. After a while I noticed that I haven't received the permit so I called them and asked for it and they said that I was given it at the time of signing off the job. I told them that I do not have it. I drove to Chriswells and showed everything I had they said they will look into it weeks turned into months sometimes I was able to talk to someone. Sometimes I left messages. They made appointments to come and look at it and I took the day off and they never showed up. In that time the trim between the bathtub and floor they put in was breaking up and leaking into the floor they used particle board for the trim and that's why it was expanding and leaking into the floor. They did come out and fix it and I was told by the guy that was fixing it that he was hired to fix all their mess ups. Which made me feel uncomfortable with the work they did. As time went by I was still trying to get the permit. Even the owner made an appointment with me and he did not show up again. I had to take time off work. More time went by same thing. Not calling me back giving promises to be there. My wife and I found out that our son had cancer so my wife and I stopped calling Chriswells. After months of dealing with the cancer and our son is cancer free we went back on trying to contact Chriswells to get the permit they just continued to not contact me. My wife contacted Greensky to tell them that they did not give us the permit she was told to stop making payments to Greensky and that they were going to contact Criswells. I called them and left a message that I was going to get a lawyer. After that they were able to make an appointment and get county out there and I got my permit. It's just sad it takes all that to get them out and finish a job. Looking back when they were putting in the vanity they had to cut open the wall and redo the plumbing because the vanity was too high. I remember him saying he wanted to hurry up and get the drywall and a plumbing fix so that county doesn't see it and hold up the job. At the time I wasn't really thinking about it but now I know that was bad. Now almost 5 years later my son was taking a shower and he told me there was water coming out of the floor. I rushed home, took out the flooring and it looks like it's been leaking ever since. Chriswells did the job and it looks like it is leaking from the shower to the floor. The floor was rotting out so it's been leaking for awhile and is going into the garage. I went down to Chriswells and explained what happened. Showed them pictures and it seemed that they were going to look into it which made me feel relieved. But no I kept calling and they said they were going to talk to the project manager a week goes by the next week no one calls from Chriswells at all going into week 3 now. So I don't know if it's leaking from the vanity plumbing or the plumbing from the shower going into the corner and rotting out. I would not recommend this company to anyone not unless you like throwing money away. I know I can't afford to throw $16,709. I'm going to be contacting the better Business bureau as well. And getting a lawyer. I put the pictures in so you can see as well. Update 1/25/26 I was doing some more research and turned on the water in the shower and this is what happened.
