Lovett & Lovett Roofing

I hired Lovett & Lovett to redo 2 sections of my flat roof to fix some leaks Jordan, the owner came out to look at the job. I showed him a problem involving the drainage opening & we discussed lowering the opening to fix the problem. Someone named Kyle texted me once the job started, to tell me he was in charge The entire time that the work was being done, I never saw Jorden or Kyle. Apparently, Manuel, who’s English isn’t very good was “in charge” & required no supervision. Except that he was never informed of the drainage issue. After the job was completed, the drainage was even worse than before. All of the layers of waterproofing sealant made it even more difficult for water to drain. The bucket of water I dumped onto the deck now drained in 2 different directions, away from the drain. Now, Jordan came by to look at the deck. When I dumped another bucket of water out so he could see the problem, He defended the work & tried his hardest to get me to back down. I had to INSIST, 4-5 times that this was something we discussed & this outcome was unacceptable before he finally agreed to send Manuel back to fix the problem Unfortunately, most of the fix involved scraping off the waterproofing around to drain to eliminate some of the blockade, in addition to building up the corner with a few more layers of roofing material. Whether or not this area is still waterproof is now something I am now very concerned about. Jordan is now pretending that the fix I wanted would have required resloping the entire deck. This is not true. The drain threshold needed to be lowered 1/2” . But none of this was communicated to Manuel. Secondly- I was informed mid-job that the old stucco was how in bad shape & that they needed to remove a larger amount than previously planned. I approved the change & agreed to pay for the extra labor to get the best outcome The pictures accompanying this review shows where they strapped the new header to crumbling +/or missing stucco. When I brought this to Kyle & Jorden’s attention they told me that they could give me a referral to a painter to fix this, now that the header was attached to this mess. & scraping it off would be more difficult & create a gap. Why this wasn’t included in the original job when I approve the additional stucco repair baffles me My final text from Jorden- “If something was wrong with the job I would have taken responsibility. I will not redo the roof just because of an unsubstantiated opinion.” I would not recommend working with them, even if the rest of the job was done correctly. ZERO oversite, combined with having to stand up to Jorden’s attempt to intimidate me? I would not work with them again if I need to fix other sections of the roof in the future. UPDATE: My newly redone Lovett & Lovett roof is leaking. They refused to address the problem of ignoring my request that the job include lowering the drainage Instead, they scraped the waterproofing off to improve the drainage. I have called them & have not heard back from them I am going to come after them for a refund so I can get another, more competent team out here to Actually FIX the problem UPDATE I hired a different roofing crew to fix the problems left behind by Lovett & Lovett's incompetence They lowered the drain, & in the process uncovered extensive dry rot under the brand new roof that Lovett & Lovett replaced 6 months prior I can't believe that this level of incompetence is possible Jorden Still refuses to admit there's a problem or refund me the amount that I paid a 2nd time to fix the leaks

Fantastic company! The quality of the work was exceptional. I've never known a roofing company to have such skilled carpenters. My roof has tall, steep pitches that got decorative trim installed on the faces of the peaks at the roof line. This was a challenge to install and they did a fantastic job while working safely. The crew was courteous and professional. Throughout the days they made sure the gate was kept closed so that my dogs were always safe in the yard. They cleaned up at the end of each day making sure no trash was left in the yard. I don't often give 5 stars, if 6 was an option I would give them.

This is one of the best roofing companies in the Bay Area ! They stand by their word and do excellent work! They are a multi generational family run business , give them a call if you need a new roof or a repair
