After interviewing 9 roofing companies in the Bay Area. NuRoof Roofing Solutions, Project Manager Sean Dillion, definitely set a high standard on integrity, professionalism, and transparency. Price: Of the 9 roofing companies that I interviewed, NuRoof Roofing Solutions, price was in the middle compared to the competition. The bid presented by Sean Dillion (23 pages) was the most thorough contract of the 9 bids that I received. Examples of some bids that I received from other contractors were in the form of a text message, email, and some on a prefab template 2 pager excel doc, and I even had one contractor that handwritten a bid on the back of a shingles flyer. Communication: NuRoof Project Manager, Sean Dillon was definitely a pleasure to work with. From appointments - texting you prior to arriving at your property - timeline on the roof replacement - start date of roof replacement - intermit permitting appointments - estimated time of completion was all well communicated. Tear Out Crew: The team at NuRoof was outstanding I must say. I was informed that since my roof replacement project is on the more extreme - 2 layers (original wood shingles and composite shingles) to remove. I would need to cover the interior of my garage. A team of 4 contractors from NuRoof was assigned for the roof tear out, 1 person on pitch fork duty, 2 people on tarp duty, and 1 person on nail and clean up duty. The systematic way the crew removed the roof shingles and debris was on another level - they definitely minimized the debris from falling into my garage and other ceiling areas of the upper attic. At the end of the day, I only ended up with 3 small garbage bags of wood shingle debris that fell into the tarp in my garage (Tarp lining was done by myself). Plywood Board Installation: Day one of my roof replacement project started out at 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. With 11 team members. Roof tear out and 1/2 " OSB Plywood install, all occurred on the same day. Shingle Installation: Having lived in San Mateo for 45 years. In the last 6 years, climate change was much more intense than I can remember. After speaking to the Project Manager, Sean Dillon, my concerns. We concluded that I should consider using "Certainteed Landmark Solaris" shingles - Cool Roof Technology, while also providing superior protection against the elements - StreakFighter® algae resistance technology - comply with the 2022 California Title 24 Part 6 Cool Roof Requirements - UL Class A fire resistance - UL 2218 Class 3 impact resistance - was the best chose. Shingles installation was about 2 days. The shingles installer, Carlos was very knowledgeable and detailed on the process of the installation from, waterproof synthetic underlayment, install vent pipe ashing across the roof, 6 new low prole eyebrow vents for a proper attic ventilation, roof jacks, new drip edge across the roof, new ice and water shield around chimney, new chimney cap (a must to past inspection), install new starter layer across the roof, caulking around ashing metal pipes and roof jacks, prime & paint all new sheet metal to blend with new roof color. My overall experience with Sean Dillion and his team (NuRoof Roofing Solutions) on a scale of 1 - 10, is definitely a "10". Past performance and future outcome "may not" be the same for everyone, but if you are considering hiring NuRoof Roofing Solutions, tell Sean that you want the same package - with the same team members that Tony Tseng had. Had such a great experience with Nuroof! My project manager, Sean, was super easy to work with. He kept me in the loop the whole time and made sure everything went smoothly.
