Great workmanship, communication, and quality of work. Highly recommend Kern County Roofing for your roofing needs. We needed to replace the entire roof per our home insurance. Being located in Lake Isabella, it was tricky to get contractors up here since some don't make the drive in the canyon. I researched and found Kern County Roofing and liked what I saw. I was very glad to find out they also provide work up in Lake Isabella as they were my preferred contractor in my research for one. Mike, the owner, came and inspected the roof. Gave me a quote that was reasonable. They were scheduled 3 weeks out. It was a little tricky with weather, so there was a little delay in starting the work. And I know there is permitting that is involved. Once they got the work started, it was fast, efficient, seamless, and with great quality of work. They worked endlessly. The crew spoke English, were professional, mindful, and respectful of the property. They were very organized, cleaned up well after themselves and cleaned up anything that went over the fence to the neighbors by accident. Their attention to detail was top notched. We also had asked them to remove the swamp cooler on the roof that was no longer being used, and they did. On top of that, they capped it and sealed over it and roofed it over. Less weight on the roof, and one seamless finish. Super happy. The foreman, Johnathan was very knowledgeable, respectful, and courteous. He was accommodating and responsive of our ask. I couldn't ask for a better roofer to do the re-roof. They got everything done in about 3-4 days. They tore the roof in one day. Cleaned up and repaired any existing damages the 2nd day. The third day, they started putting the roof on. About half day or so of the 4th day, they completed it. They also added 3 attic vents for us, which was a nice add-on and touch as it did not exist before. Next day, inspector came for final inspection and pass. The process was seamless. The admins at the office were nice and communicative. Mike was responsive and attentive to our needs and questions. Overall, great experience from Kern County Roofing. Kern county roofing I could not be more pleased. Michelle in management literally saved my family, while companies all around fought us assisting us with insurance and validating the external damage we had on our home. She went above and beyond with assisting with the claim, coding, dozens of calls, emails,etc. She went through everything with us and insurance, guided us on the process and what needed done. Advocated for our family with a strength our family literally prayed for. The gratitude I have for this women and this company for doing what they did for is cannot really fully be expressed in words. She was able to have our insurance cover the entirety of our roof with a wind damage claim, with only a 1,500 payment total really out of pocket for us. This women is a literal gem, she heard my plea and sat through so much with us. My family was then able to come out with a beautiful look on our home, a secure roof up to code! The guys just finished my roof and I’m very pleased. Shout out to Mike and Martin. I’m impressed with the quality and detail. They added 4 attic vents where none existed before, they painted all vent pipes to match, they split the ridge caps from the center out, they did an incredible job with the clean up. I’m also impressed with how organized the work was; tear off crew, materials crew, roofing crew. Fast and efficient. 3 days start to finish. Thanks, folks! Update- The week after the work was complete the city inspector left a correction notice saying the flashing along the raised portion between the garage and house needed to be sealed so water wouldn’t get trapped. Not a major risk, but whatever. I contacted the company and they promptly sent someone over. I have no idea who was sent over, but they had no business handling such complex machinery as a caulking gun. A thick and wavy line of gray caulking was smeared across a 15’ section of roofing, right within view when I roll up on my driveway (I hope to be able to attach a photo). I called and complained and someone was promptly sent over who removed all the previous caulking, gouging chunks out of the solid wood redwood siding. They sealed it properly behind the flashing, but left an awful trail of destruction (should show up in the middle frame of the first pic). At this point I contacted the main contractor and asked to please send a painter to fix this. The painter came promptly and painted over the mess without filling the gouges (bottom frame of the first pic). Now this last flub wasn’t KRC’s issue, but damn! I ended up fixing the problem myself (second pic). I would still recommend KRC. They did give me an amazing roof, but you might need to bird dog them on the finishing details 😉. I’m changing them from 5 to 4 star.
