Cactus Jungle Nursery and Garden

Found this store on a trip to San Rafael and was glad to find they also had a store in Berkeley at the time. Paid for consulting from Hap (one of the owners) for which plants to use at our East Bay home. Heard Berkeley location was closing, (could not post about Berkeley since they were closed, so used same owners at San Anselmo as it was on Yelp) so bought plants with the agreement that Hap would assist with the planting. Hap actually suggested we buy in Berekely to help reduce their inventory so less to move. Hap knew we were getting the discount. Hap never replied with a quote to plant the plants, so no formal contract. Now 6 months later, and many commitments from Hap missed and with no follow-up and still no follow-up from Hap. My suggestion, you can trust his knowledge of the plants, but caveat emptor (buyer beware) if he offers to help plant them for you. No follow-up after the sale. Also, as shown in their response, they seem to be unaware it is not possible to leave a review on a location that is closed, so the only option is to leave the review with the open store, owned by the same people. From their response, you can see they may adjust the facts to fit their goals, instead of following up on thier commitments! For Bay Area people interested in succulents, visit the Bancroft Museum in Walnut Creek, a world renowned garden that has been around forever with educated and helpful resources.

You might need a bigger car. Lots of cute little cacti and succulents but they have some monsters too. Tons of choice and fun even to just look. Kids will like seeing the tortoises there too. Prices are reasonable, but you can expect that the large cacti will be expensive just like any large plant would be.

I ordered a plant there today for $495 and when I got home, I saw the same plant for half that price. When I called to cancel the order and gentlemen on the phone, whom I believe was one of the owners accuse me of being rude and ignorant. Of course he did cancel the order, but he let me in a very sour taste about the place.P
