Verne Pershing, The Art Of Gardening

I had always wanted a water feature on my property but didn't want the upkeep of a pond (or having to feed fish or deal with critters eating the fish). I reached out to Verne Pershing, The Art of Gardening and he suggested I take a look at his website and check out his "Pond-less Waterfalls". All of the beauty and sounds of a gorgeous water feature - with zero maintenance! Because we had some issues with having to limit noise near the house - Verne and his team did the demolition all by hand. Then, the magic happened. All of the rocks were placed one at a time, with precision and care to make sure we got the rushing and falling water sounds we wanted. After two days it was completed - and it was exactly what I wanted. We used some of our existing boulders (complete with lichen on them) as the focal point of the waterfall, and he added more rocks and river stones. Verne brought an assortment of native plants and let me choose what I wanted to really showcase the design. He suggested where to put the lighting and set it up to automatically turn on at dusk and off at dawn. I am so pleased with the work he and his team did... and they even put up with my constant input and questions. The best part is the fact that our resident frog family was temporarily relocated to a large bucket and then released back in the waterfall area. They are now happily croaking every night enjoying their new habitat. I highly recommend Verne Pershing and the Art of Gardening if you have an idea for a pond or water feature and want it brought to life ... he's simply the best! We have a small hillside in our front yard, which had a collection of sad attempts at "landscaping". During a visit to The Meadow in Placerville, their beautiful waterfall gave us an idea way beyond anything we could have imagined. Verne and his team have since made that hillside one of the most beautiful spots on our property. It also enhances our home and surroundings with the lovely sound of falling water. Verne and his team are truly artists and fascinating to watch. Deftly maneuvering boulders, rocks, and assorted stones into a special spot I have to visit a few times a day. Friends have commented that the waterfall seems like it should have always been here. It's one of the best investments we have made on our home. Thank You Verne, Juan, and Rodrigo.

I highly and happily recommend Verne Pershing and his crew for work on your backyard pond. Verne and his experienced two person team spent about six hours restoring a lightly maintained 800 gallon pond. Verne knew what needed to be done, and advised me of their work as they progressed. I definitely will seek his team’s help for annual maintenance in the future. The pond and garden around it looks so good, and the fish, my wife, and our Labrador are very happy.
