Reliable Landscaping and Design

Reliable Landscaping? This company is the furthest thing from reliable. I completely regret choosing this company and trusting them with a major project. We signed a $67,000 landscaping contract with this company in March. While we understood the initial weather-related delays, the way our project was handled afterward was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. On our scheduled project start date (May 26th) no one showed up and we received no phone call, email, or update. After taking time off work to be home for the project, we had to call the company ourselves, only to be met with confusion and surprise, as if they were unaware our project was even scheduled to begin. They then scrambled to contact employees and send someone out later that day for a “walk through.” This is something that should have been completed well before the scheduled start date. We were then assured work would begin the following morning at 8:00 AM. By 10:00 AM, no one had arrived and again we had received no communication. When we called for answers, an employee told us the owner and our project advisor should have already been at our house to speak with us. That had never happened. When we calmly expressed our concerns about the repeated lack of communication, the no call/no show, and the fact that we had now missed multiple days of work for nothing, the owner, Brandon, immediately responded by asking if we wanted to cancel the project. We explained that cancellation was not our goal. We simply wanted accountability, communication, and follow-through. Brandon then stated, “I don’t like the tone you have. I’ve been in the landscaping business since the 90s. I have 9 other projects going on and I don’t like your tone, so we can just go ahead and cancel this project.” At no point were we disrespectful. We were frustrated customers trying to understand why a major project had been mishandled from the start. For a company handling projects of this size and cost, we expected professionalism, communication, and BASIC reliability. Unfortunately, our experience has been the exact opposite. I do not recommend doing business with this company at all.

I'm very satisfied with the front yard renovation that Reliable Landscape designed and built for me. The project consisted of better defining both sides of the entry to my driveway with large boulders, building a retaining wall and stone steps that leads up a hill to our Oak tree and a natural patio area for a bench at the top of the steps and under the Oak tree. The result exceeded my expectations. I’ve worked with several landscape companies over the years for a variety of projects, but this was the best experience I had from start to finish. Brandon really took the time to listen and understand my vision for the project and provided me with an excellent design that fit my budget. He provided an excellent design package for submittal to the HOA which made the approval process very easy, and remained highly engaged throughout the build process, making adjustments as necessary and immediately handling any issues that cropped up.

We had a great experience working with the team! My favorite things: they explained their process, were transparent and incredibly responsive! Brandon was flexible and worked around our crazy schedules. He listened to our wants/concerns throughout the project: the design process (as we made several changes), selection of plants and the walkthroughs. He was always on time and personable in meetings. He used landscaping software and sent video walkthroughs of each design change YouTube, which was an awesome help to visualize the design concept. The project was to redo our front and side landscaping. They kept the features we wanted, like the stairs, and demoed everything else. He showed us samples of everything, went with us to pick out plants and give his experience and knowledge. And he did everyone he could to stay in our original budget as we kept adding things to the design. We went over, but only because we added the grass and more plants than we originally thought. Among the many landscaping contractors I've worked with, Reliable is the only is recommend.
