Goodfellas Handyman and Appliance Repair

My built-in Monogram refrigerator wasn’t getting cold all of a sudden. I vacuumed the top portion trying to get to the cooling fins which is not easy. There was very little debris anyway. I thought it may be the compressor since it was making an alternating humming noise. That was because it was working hard to keep up the cooling of both the refrigerator and freezer sides. There’s not a lot of information on the web about this model. I called Julio and he came out the next day and assessed the problem. He is very detail-orientated and explained each step he took. Julio ordered the part (interior distribution fan which assists in cooling both sides) and came back a few days later to install it. My refrigerator works fine now. Very responsive and professional regarding my service.

This is the second time Jose has come out to repair separate issues for our home warranty company within the past month, and we have been very impressed both times. The first visit was for a leak under our kitchen sink, and most recently he fixed a leak from our toilet. Jose responded quickly each time, stayed in great communication through calls and texts, and handled both repairs efficiently and professionally. He was also very accommodating to our work schedule and made the time to come out on a weekend, which we really appreciated. We truly value his reliability and the quality of his work. We will definitely be calling Jose again for any future repairs or handyman work we may need.

I unfortunately had a very disappointing experience with Goodfellas Handyman Service. I scheduled Julio to come out for a repair at my tenant-occupied rental property. The first scheduled appointment window passed without any update or communication that he would not be able to make it. I only found out the appointment needed to be rescheduled after I reached out myself about an hour after the scheduled window had already passed. At that point, I was told an emergency had come up, which I completely understood. We then coordinated a second appointment around both his availability and my tenant’s schedule. The appointment was confirmed, and my tenant adjusted their schedule to be available. Unfortunately, the second appointment window also came and went with nobody showing up and no communication letting either of us know there was a delay or that he would not be able to make it. I attempted to follow up afterward by phone and message to find out what happened, but still have not received a response. I understand that emergencies and unexpected situations happen, but communication and reliability are extremely important, especially when working on properties where multiple people are coordinating their schedules. Unfortunately, based on the repeated missed appointments, lack of communication, and lack of follow-through, I would not recommend Goodfellas Handyman Service.
