Highly recommend this local business if you want your noisy system tuned up by a certified professional. The technician arrived early, checked every single hinge joint, and replaced all our old worn-out plastic rollers. He used a specialized commercial lubricant that stopped that terrible metal grinding sound instantly. You gotta appreciate a worker who takes pride in clean workspaces and sweeps up every bit of debris. Tnx for the great advice on extending the lifespan of our tension cables!

Short version: Tried to overcharge by more than double the price. Lied repeatedly, damaged the rails through his own mistake, threatened to walk off the job with the door hanging crooked and off the rails unless I gave him more money, was rude. It's clear that the repair guy has a lot of training in how to do a high-pressure sell to get the customer to agree to do the job on the spot. First he tried to sell me an entire door and new opener for $5000 ("do you want to do it right, or do it quick and sloppy?") When I said I wanted to repair the door I have, he quoted $1500 for the hardware and what he acknowledged would be about 30 minutes of work. Luckily I did my homework, so I knew the hardware involved (two springs, drums, and cables) is worth under $200. I countered at $700, based on my research, and he quickly agreed. So there's key point number one: he clearly tried to overcharge me by $800. Then he very quickly replaced the springs and drums, but neglected to check that the rollers were correctly in their brackets before trying to raise the door. One roller was not seated properly, causing the track to get bent as he tried to raise the door. I saw this happen, but he claimed that the track and door were already bent, and demanded an additional $200 to put in rollers with longer shafts. He became adversarial, proclaiming "I don't work for free." The longer rollers didn't make sense, but I agreed because he was going to have to re-tension the springs. Once we got the door properly aligned on the tracks, it became clear that it wasn't really bent at all, just not hung straight. Once the springs were re-tensioned and the rollers seated properly, the door worked fine. The whole interaction showed lack of integrity. He lied about needing to call his boss to get approval for the $700 quote, but then never made the call. He lied about the costs of the parts. He knocked the optical sensor off the wall, then claimed it was like that and left it for me to fix. Once the door went up and down once manually, he declared it was "like new", and didn't bother to reconnect the garage door opener or verify operation. I paid him and couldn't get him out of my garage fast enough. Two stars because the door at least worked by the time he left. Attached are photos showing the damage he did to the rails, and the needless-long rollers he charged $200 extra to install 5x. Actual value of these rollers is
