Materials and workmanship are excellent. Price is reasonable. Planks are milled true to size. The fence is straight and strong. The installers are efficient and polite. My property was left clear of all debris. I will call them for future work. I didn't realize how much a well built fence would add to my yard. Thank you J and D fencing.

How long do you expect your new fence to last? 30 years? 20 years? 10 years? 5 years? Then JD Fence is probably not the right company for you. We hired them to replace our 35 year old fence in November 2021. The job was completed on schedule and we had no issues initially. Then after a couple years we started to notice some warping, separation, and cracking. We weren't very happy about this, but did not contact JD Fence. Then, recently we noticed that one 45 foot section of the fence is completely wobbly and in danger of falling down due to rotted posts. So after a mere 4+ years, the fence is in worse condition than the 35 year old fence it replaced. At this point we of course did contact JD Fence, and reported the problem to the receptionist. She said she would have someone contact us. A week went by and we heard nothing, so we called again. At this point we were told that a company representative would come out a few days later and have a look. One of the owners came out and look at the situation. I showed him the very wobbly fence. At first he was hemming and hawing, mumbling, and scratching his head. Then suddenly he asked if my neighbors are over-watering their landscaping. I have no evidence of that, and told him so. I asked if the treated posts are not waterproof. His response to that was to blame environmentalists for poor quality treated lumber. So, a bunch of excuses, and no sympathy or solutions. He then left, but assured me that the company would call back to further discuss. Of course, nobody ever called back. So after another week, I called back again. I was put in touch with the same guy who had come out to do the inspection. He was very defensive again, saying they did the job right, the neighbor is probably over watering, and the tree huggers ruined the treated lumber. These are literally the excuses he used. At no point did he offer any sort of remedy other than for us to have the job redone correctly completely at our expense, possibly using metal fence posts instead of treated wood 4x4's. I asked him why nobody had called back after being promised a follow-up call. More pathetic excuses such as “maybe the paperwork got buried”. Nothing serious, and at no point did he apologize or take responsibility for anything. I unfortunately did not ask him why they knowingly install posts that are likely to rot in just a few years, and why this information is not disclosed to customers. To summarize, this experience exposed poor communication, failure to follow up as promised, a total lack of care or concern for the customer, and an absolute unwillingness to back their products and service. Hire this company at your own risk. These are the facts. I expect a rebuttal to this review from JD Fence, and I look forward to seeing what feeble excuses, alibis, and explanations they come up with. Should make for some entertaining reading...

A couple of years ago one of the valley's atmospheric rivers hit the Fresno area foothills where I live especially hard. In so doing the rain and wind caused a lot a damage including the destruction of a couple of my fences. So I shopped around to find a good price and found J and D fence. They responded very timely and were very helpful with the project including some modifications that I wanted as well.The fence was finished in a couple of days and all was well. Now fast forward to a couple of months ago. Another atmospheric river hit my property again which took most of the fence down due to extreme erosion from the rain and high wind. Do to the terrain the fence had to be built on a 60 degree angle, so this wasn't helping here. So, no fault of J and D but I decided to call them again, and once again very timely response and they made the decision they would rebuild the fence again. They replaced the fence with all new wood and used 10' 4X4 posts to better anchor the fence due to the erosion, not to mention many extra bags of cement. My point here is this kind of care for the customer is not what it once was, but with J and D it still is. If you want a good price, and this kind of customer service, you should consider giving them a call because I'm happy that I did. Thank you J and D!
