Before I moved into my house in 2023, a different electrician who inspected my panel told me my panel was damaged and would definitely need to be replaced soon because it's a fire hazard. I put this off for months until I got an outage in part of the house that couldn't be remediated by flipping the breaker. It resolved itself in a few days, but I realized I needed to take care of the panel. I contacted the electrician who did the inspection, but he told me his supplier for parts was no longer available and he no longer did full replacements. I was back to square one. I found Douglas Electric, and they quickly scheduled a time for me and presented me the options - I went with an upgrade to a modern 200 amp panel. On the day of the appointment, Doug came by with an assistant and did the panel upgrade quietly, efficiently, and thoroughly. I never got a weird outage again, and some outlets that were non-functional started working again. I was worried that the price of a business that's listed on Yelp would not be competitive with the quote from the electrician who inspected my place initially, but Doug's charge was very reasonable. After the panel was replaced, Doug told me I'd need to get an inspection from SMUD because I elected for an upgrade to the 200 amp panel. Being a bigger panel, some of the stucco needed to be removed, and I needed to patch the stucco before getting the inspection. I was worried about incurring more cost to hire a stucco expert. I procrastinated on the stucco repair for nearly four months. On a whim, I asked Doug, and he guided me to do a stucco repair, free of charge. He had no obligation to do that as an electrician, and I am delighted and grateful that he spent the extra time to help me improve my own skills and save some money. Despite my making Doug wait months to schedule the SMUD inspection, once I told him I was done with the stucco repair, he scheduled with SMUD for me that same day. The panel passed inspection. I've attached a picture of the final result. Please note that I did the stucco patching myself (the gray parts), and I elected to do so.

Doug is wonderful to work with. He came out same day, was able to quickly fix one of my issues and gave me some very reasonable quotes for the rest of the work I want done. Moving forward with Douglas Electric as they've also been highly recommended by friends. Would give more stars if possible!!
